Our Story
Goldthorpe Pubs is a small, independent pub group built on a simple idea: that a great pub should feel like exactly that. Proper food, drinks, and people who actually care about the experience they're giving their guests.
We run four pubs across Norfolk: The Boars in Spooner Row, The Cellar House in Eaton, The King's Head in New Buckenham, and The Belle Vue in Norwich. Each one has its own character and its own loyal community. What they share is a standard we're proud of and a team that takes pride in keeping it.
We're owner-run. Simon and Jenny Turner are hands-on in the business, and that shapes everything about how we work. The decisions are made by people who genuinely love these pubs, not by a head office somewhere else. If you want to be part of something that's built with care and growing steadily, you'll fit right in.
Our People
The food we serve matters to us, seasonal, locally sourced where possible, and cooked properly. The drinks are looked after. The pubs are kept well. We hold ourselves to a standard, and we expect the same from the people who work with us. In return, you'll be treated with respect, supported to do your job well, and part of a team that actually communicates.
We're growing, which means real opportunities for people who show commitment and ability. We'd much rather develop people from within than keep looking outwards. If you're good at what you do and want to build on it, there's room for that here.
